Monday What Are You Reading #65

It’s Monday What Are You Reading? is a weekly reading roundup is hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.

This is technically a weekly meme but I don’t read fast enough to make that worthwhile so I post it every two or three weeks.

This is the third in Lemire’s series about an empathetic robot child and this one fills in some back stories of some of the characters.

This is a fairly short audiobook. I grew up watching the Carol Burnett show. This is sort of a memoir in a series of anecdotes from her life and career. She is delightful to listen to and a great storyteller.

This is a short story prequel to Taylor’s Chronicles of St. Mary’s time travel adventure series. I read the first book several years ago and decided to read this story before continuing with the second book in the series.

I had heard good things about the audio editions of this series so I decided to give it a try, Flavia de Luce is a great character and Jayne Entwistle does a fabulous job as her voice.

This short audio is Carrie Fisher’s book version of stories from her life that she used in her stage show. It was a good visit with her.

This is the second in Archer’s Clifton Chronicles. The Hubster recently finished the series and enjoyed it. It’s been a while since I finished the first book so it’s nice to get back to this series.

Werewolves of the Heartland by Bill Willingham

This graphic novel is part of Willingham’s Fables series. I love the series and this on featuring Bigby Wolf is good so far.

I don’t think I would have finished this one in print but the author’s narration totally made the audio. I loved listening to her. There were parts of this I enjoyed and other parts I didn’t like as much. I think the fact that I only listen to audiobooks in the car and therefore in small increments helped with this one.

This 0ne languished on my shelf for way too long. I admired Ruth Bader Ginsburg before I read it and I admire her more after reading it.

Paper Girls Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan

This one is such fun. Time travel, 1980’s nostalgia, science fiction and just the right touch of humor.

The Fade Out by Ed Brubaker

The Fade Out, Act One by Ed Brubaker

1948 Hollywood. A noir mystery story that takes place around the making of a noir movie. So good and I can’t wait to continue with the trilogy.

We enjoyed the television series based on the first few books in this series. The Hubster read and enjoyed the first four books. Unfortunately the more I read the less I cared so I set it aside at about the 2/3 point.
